Grandmaster Toddy
Kru Sam Bas is the heart and soul of Sydney Muay Thai Academy. A certified MTIA Kru, he travelled to Bangkok to complete intensive fighter and coaching training directly under the legendary Grandmaster Toddy — one of the most influential figures in modern Muay Thai history. That bloodline runs through every session on the mat.
Before Muay Thai, Kru Sam built a deep combat foundation across multiple disciplines. He holds a strong background in competitive kickboxing and fitness boxing, and has tested himself inside the ring with over 20 amateur fights spanning Melbourne, Sydney, Türkiye and Thailand. That real fight experience shapes how he coaches — technical, honest, and built for the ring, not just the gym.
Beyond the ring, Kru Sam is passionate about using martial arts to change young lives. Through the Rising Stars kids and teens programs he runs structured anti bullying and youth mentorship sessions — giving younger members confidence, discipline and a safe space to grow. Fitness boxing classes keep the community active and moving, while the eight limbs curriculum passed down from Grandmaster Toddy's Bangkok camps stays at the core of everything.
